Shine Until Jesus Comes

Men's Ministry

When you look at our streets and neighborhoods it is evident that men, especially African American men, are victims of Satan's brainwashing schemes, and spiritual attacks. Men often display a hard heart toward Christ's message of salvation.

When Adam and Eve sinned, the entire world was plunged into sin. From that time on, we were separated from God with a sin nature. Although most people believe that you are good people, the bible says differently:

  • "...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." --      Romans 3:23
  • "But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." -- Romans 5:8
  • For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." -- John 3:17
The Bible says man must be "born again."  This is neither a new concept nor post-modern expression, but an expression that represents a real change in man's behavior and lifestyle. Jesus first used the expression when he was talking to Nicodemus, a Jewish religious leader:
"I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again." -- John 3:3

He also said:

  • "I am the way, and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." -- John 14:6
  • "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." -- Matthew 7:13-14
